A sound, basic education for every child.

Our public schools are under assault.
It’s up to us to defend them.

Public education for all is an idea that helped build our state and our nation.

The commitment to a basic education for all, supported by the public, is not only the biggest driver of North Carolina’s economy. It is also a building block of our democracy, and a melting pot for our communities. In every county and town, the local public school is part of the foundation of its community. More than 90% of North Carolina’s children are educated in our public schools – and they always will be. Our schools embody each generation’s promise to the North Carolinians that come after them.

But there are some who want to break that promise.

Defunding our schools, throwing sand in their gears, cutting back on teachers – and then complaining about the results. Sending our public money to sham fly-by-night private schools that exist only on paper, and which are allowed to teach our children nonsense (or not at all). Diverting money meant for educating kids to out of state, for-profit “management companies.” It’s the same, sleazy political game every time, but always with the same ultimate goal: dismantling North Carolina’s public schools.

We can’t let them do it.

Help defend our schools.
