Today, Carolina Forward is launching the second installment of “Straight to the Point,” a months-long project by team members Representative-elect Jordan Lopez and Kinston City Councilman Chris Suggs to bring together groups of young Black men from across the state to discuss the issues facing North Carolina today.
“Straight to the Point” events focused on Black barbershops, where Lopez and Suggs convened groups of their peers to hear and discuss issues facing both Charlotte, in part 1, and eastern North Carolina, and Kinston in particular, in part 2. Both events sparked lively, probing and illuminating insights about what is on these voters’ minds.
